How We’ll Align

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for extracting,
    transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse
    leveraging Azure, AWS, Databricks, Python and SQL technologies.

  • Architect and implement data storage solutions (e.g., data lakes, warehouses) that ensure data is organized, accessible, and optimized for performance.

  • Design and implement automation processes, utilizing platform best practices for DataOps, MLOps, Data Observability, Metadata Management, and Data Classification, etc.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement
    solutions that meet business needs.

  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing data pipelines for performance and reliability.

  • Implement data quality and validation processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of data.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data engineering to continuously
    improve our data infrastructure.

  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data use
    cases and provide the necessary infrastructure and support.

  • Assemble large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business
    requirements.

  • Identify, design and implement internal process improvements including re-design
    infrastructure for greater scalability, optimize data delivery, and automating manual processes.

Job requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a heavy data environment.  

  • Bachelor's degree or experience in Data Science and Management field.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • API development experience

  • Deep understanding of key engineering and architecture principles

  • Experience working containerization technologies (e.g docker, Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, AKS).

  • Experience with GIT and SDLC best practices.

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.

  • Experience with DBT or similar Data Engineering/Transformation tools.

  • Experience with pub/sub and/or Kafka messaging

  • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.

  • Experience in Snowflake and/or Databricks technologies.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) for data processing and scripting.

  • Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.


What Could Set You Apart:


  • Certifications in Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Certifications in Cloud Data Warehouse platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Data Bricks, Salesforce Data Cloud

  • Certifications in visualization platforms (e.g. ThoughtSpot, Tableau, PowerBI)


Salary/Benefits:

The annual base salary range is $100,000-$200,000k / year depending on years of experience.. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the HIKE2 total compensation package, which includes the below:
